Choosing baby food must be based on the age of the baby. This is adjusted to the baby’s ability to receive food. The mother should consider the appropriate kind of food to be given to the baby because it can affect their growth and development. Entering the age of 6 month, baby needs to be introduced with other foods other than milk from their mother (weaning food).

The main thing to note when you want to give weaning food for your baby is considering whether the baby has ability to digest it.

What You Need to Know about Starting Solids for Your Baby.

What is the right time to start solid food for my baby ?

WHO recommends 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding. It means you don’t need to offer anything except breastmilk for first 6 months. Even water is not required as breastmilk has 80% water content in it. Unfortunately, due to any medical/personal conditions, if you want to wean after 4 months of the delivery, please do consult with your Pediatrician and if agreed, then you can start with plain rice and dal water.

How do I start my baby’s solid food journey?

Once you decide to introduce solids to your baby, start with the starchy rice water remained after boiling rice. Also, moong dal water can be given. Continue this for atleast a week before beginning Balvvardhak food.

My baby is just turning 6 months. What can I feed him?

You can start with rice and dal water before starting our foods. Then move on to Balvvardhak Khichdi mix and Nachni satva. Also, at the same time, you can began serving fruit juices and sooji(rawa) kheer in a liquidy consistency.

My baby is older enough to try all the products. Which one should I start with ?

   We have displayed starting ages for all our products on our packets. You can start feeding the baby products according to age category, like 6 months onwards, 7 month onwards and so on. All our products are essential at that particular age for proper growth and nourishment. So, we recommend feeding every product according to age.

Always follow the 3-day rule while introducing any new product, i.e give the new product for a consecutive 3 days in the mornings to check for any reaction or allergies.

Till what age can we feed these products ?

Ideally, these baby foods can be given till the age of 1.5 to 2 years average.Make sure that by the age of 1, your baby is introduced to all varieties of foods you eat yourself at home. These foods can be continued later too in different forms like dosa, thalipeeth etc.
